The 2023 Honda HR-V is the most expensive HR-V yet, but its value justifies its price. The base LX model starts at $23,650. That’s a $1,780 price increase over the 2022 model year. The HR-V is available in three different trim levels: LX, Sport, and EX-L.

The mid-level Sport trim offers the best value because it offers plenty of comfort without breaking the bank. It starts at $25,650. The 2023 HR-V Sport comes standard with heated front seats, remote engine start and a leather-wrapped steering wheel.

The 2023 Honda HR-V Sport includes smart entry with remote auto-lock, push-button start and rear privacy glass. It also includes several advanced safety and driver assistance features, such as adaptive cruise control with low-speed tracking, lane-keep assist system and road departure mitigation system. The HR-V Sport comes with a collision mitigation system and a blind spot information system.

The 2023 Honda HR-V EX-L starts at $27,450. It’s more expensive than most entry-level compact SUVs and significantly more expensive than base models in its segment. The EX-L trim adds another $3,800 to the price of the base model. Are its many standard features worth the extra $3,800?

The final version of the HR-V comes standard with heated leather-trimmed seats, a one-touch power sunroof and heated side mirrors. It also includes a wireless smartphone charger, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. (the largest offered by any HR-V trim). The final trim level is also the only one that offers an eight-speaker audio system.

The 2023 Honda HR-V offers a lot of value for its price, but ultimately many consumers will give up many standard features for a more affordable starting price. The biggest difference between the Sport and the EX-L is technology. If you can live without heated side mirrors and a slightly larger infotainment system, then the Sport is the better buy.
