Spire Global and Myriota team up to rethink Internet of Things connectivity
VIENNA, Virginia – (COMMERCIAL THREAD) –Spire Global, Inc. (NYSE: SPIR) (âSpireâ or âthe Companyâ), a leading global provider of space data, analysis and space services, today announced a partnership with Myriota, a leading global provider of secure, low cost, long battery life satellite connectivity for the Internet of Things (IoT). The partnership will leverage Spire Space Services to speed up Myriota’s global service deployment schedule, expanding the Myriota network using Spire low-earth orbit nanosatellites. Myriota is Spire’s first large-scale IoT-driven commercial customer.
Myriota will use Spire’s existing satellite platform and will continue to evolve the Myriota network as Spire deploys new satellites. Spire and Myriota plan to rapidly expand Myriota’s coverage to a global low-latency constellation, expanding Myriota’s existing coverage in North America, Australia and New Zealand to other markets, including Europe. By leveraging Speyer’s proven constellation and global operations platform, Myriota plans to rapidly and cost-effectively scale her IoT services to meet growing global demand.
Speyer’s low-earth orbit nanosatellite constellation is equipped with a range of software-defined radios (SDRs) that allow partners to test, deploy, operate and scale custom applications. Myriota expects this historic partnership will allow her to expand her network faster into more areas and improve latency using existing spacecraft.
The Myriota network enables customers in industries such as logistics, utilities and agriculture to securely monitor and collect data on a global scale using its durable and cost-effective IoT sensors. Myriota customers already track, locate and monitor assets, including vehicles, wind turbines, equipment and tools, and shipping containers. The new partnership will support reduced latency and new services.
