Organizations across the county have come together to give residents insight into their work and show them where they can fit in.

MANATEE COUNTY, Fla. (WWSB) — Nonprofits in Manatee County are doing what they can to attract new talent to their teams.

The Boys and Girls Club of Manatee County and CareerSource Suncoast have partnered to bring area nonprofits together for their first-ever job and volunteer fair.

Organizers said they want those interested in volunteering to have face-to-face meetings with staff so they can share their talents and find a place in the organization that’s right for them.

For many people involved, it’s not just about finding a job or a new activity. It’s about making Manatee County a little brighter for everyone.

“Just to make a difference in the community,” said Hanna Miller, business services manager at CareerSource Suncoast. “It’s where we live and work, and it’s a beautiful place to live, and just so we can give back. Especially now, after everything that’s happened with COVID, it’s really important to make a difference locally.

The organizers plan to hold another such job fair. It could come maybe later this year or next year.

Either way, they hope the next event will be bigger and better.

If you weren’t able to make it to the job and volunteer fair, it’s not too late to get in touch with these non-profit organizations. We have compiled a list of organizations invited to the fair with attached hyperlinks so you can see the opportunities on their websites.
