Now once a patient’s lab reports are ready for PGIMER, a notification will be sent to their registered mobile numbers via SMS
Chandīgarh
HV correspondentAs part of its patient-friendly initiatives, the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) has launched an SMS alert feature for lab tests.
Now, once a patient’s lab reports are ready, a notification will be sent via SMS to their registered mobile numbers.
The text message will also contain a hyperlink to download the report PDF file for quick access to test results.
Until now, patients either had to repeatedly check the status of their reports online or wait at different hospital windows, as well as queue for printouts.
With the launch of the new facility, designed by the IT Section of PGIMER in collaboration with the Center for Development of Advanced Computing, Noida, patients will have access to reports from home and can plan their next visit at their leisure.
“Ultimately, this will also lead to decongestion of hospital areas and optimal utilization of support staff,” said Dr. Reena Das, Chief of Hematology and Specimen Collection Center Manager at New OPD.
